Coronavirus Update in Middleton

Dear Valued Patient,

We hope this finds you and your family in good health. Our world has been through a lot and we are
humbled by the strength and compassion of our community and fellow human beings.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic we have only been treating patients in need of immediate care. However,
our team has been working very hard to start serving you again beginning May 11, 2020. Infection
control has always been a top priority at our office so when you receive care, it is safe and comfortable.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA),
the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies closely so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings
or guidelines that may be issued.

What are some of the changes we have made? We’re so glad you asked.

-We strongly encourage patients to arrive for their appointments alone unless truly necessary.
-Please call to notify us of your arrival. You will be instructed to wait in your vehicle until we are ready for you.
-We encourage you to wear your face mask into our office.
-We have hand sanitizer that you will be asked to use when you enter the office.
-As recommended by the CDC and ADA we will have our patients use a pre-procedural mouth rinse.
Before your procedure you will be given an anti-viral rinse. The goal is to significantly reduce virus
particles being spread into the air.
-We will do our best to allow for proper social distancing as well as minimize wait times.

In addition, our level of PPE (Personal protective equipment) has been enhanced to meet the most
recent recommendations of the CDC and ADA. Our patient coordinators will be wearing face masks and
practicing social distancing when greeting you. Our clinical staff will be wearing the most effective CDC
approved face masks available. Face shields may be worn as well. Rest assured that behind all the PPE
we are the same caring, skilled and friendly people you have come to know over the years. We will be
smiling at you under our PPE.

We will continue to diligently follow all guidelines recommended by the CDC and ADA. We anticipate
future clarifications and changes as new discoveries are made and will implement those as well. Please
know that we are here to answer any questions that you may have.

Thank you very much for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to
welcoming back our neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,
Dr. Joel Hartjes, Dr. Jon Szewczyk, and Team
